Male vs Female Promiscuity: Why They’re Not the Same (And Never Were)

The Lie Everyone Repeats

One of the most common talking points in modern dating culture is this:

“Male and female promiscuity are the same.”

It sounds fair. It sounds equal.

It’s also completely wrong.

Not because one gender is “better” than the other… but because men and women operate with different leverage in the dating and marriage marketplace.

Until you understand that, nothing else will make sense.

The Real Difference: Sex vs Commitment

The key distinction is simple:

Women are the gatekeepers of sex. Men are the gatekeepers of commitment.

That dynamic alone changes everything.

A woman decides who gets access to her body. A man decides who gets access to his time, resources, and long-term investment.

So when people try to compare promiscuity across genders, they miss the point entirely.

They compare the same behavior… instead of comparing equivalent value.

Want me to break this down further? Watch the video below, where I explain why male and female promiscuity aren’t equivalent—and what the real male equivalent of female promiscuity actually is.

The Correct Comparison Nobody Talks About

The real parallel is this:

A woman who gives sex away freely and a man who gives commitment away freely

Both are devaluing what they control.

That’s why a promiscuous woman is viewed negatively.

And it’s also why a man who commits too easily is viewed as weak, desperate, and low value.

Women don’t respect that man… just like men don’t respect a woman with no sexual standards.

This isn’t a double standard.

It’s two different standards applied to two different roles.

Social Proof: Everyone Already Knows

You can see this reflected everywhere in culture.

Women insult other women by calling them “whores.”

Those same women insult men by calling them “incels.”

Think about that.

A woman is shamed for too much access. A man is shamed for not enough access.

Different insults… because the expectations are different.

Even people who argue against this framework still operate within it.

The Biblical Pattern

This distinction isn’t just cultural… it’s biblical.

Throughout Scripture, female sexual purity is emphasized repeatedly.

Women were expected to be virgins at marriage.

At the same time, men were permitted, in certain contexts, to marry multiple women and provide for them.

That alone should tell you something:

The system was never designed to treat male and female sexuality as interchangeable.

The Modern Inversion

Now look at today’s reality.

We’ve flipped the entire structure.

Women with extensive sexual histories are often normalized, even celebrated.

At the same time, men are still expected to offer full, lifelong commitment… often to women who did not reserve themselves.

That creates tension.

And even people who can’t articulate it… feel it.

Because it runs against the underlying structure that governed relationships for thousands of years.

Why This Matters

This isn’t about shaming people.

It’s about understanding reality.

When men don’t value their commitment, they give it away too easily.

When women don’t value their sexuality, they do the same.

Both lead to instability, resentment, and broken relationships.

If you want stronger marriages, stronger families, and a healthier culture…

You have to start by telling the truth about how men and women actually operate.

Not how we wish they did.

Final Thought

Male and female promiscuity are not the same.

They never were.

And pretending they are doesn’t create equality…

It creates confusion.

Men and women are different by design. Pretending those differences don’t exist doesn’t create equality—it creates confusion.
