Why Honesty About Your Desire for Other Women Is the Most Attractive Thing You Can Do

There is a story most men tell themselves about desire.
It goes like this: if she knew the full truth about what I want, it would hurt her. So I protect her by keeping it hidden. I stay quiet. I manage it. I perform fidelity while privately carrying something I was never taught to name.
Most men live their entire relationships this way.
And most men wonder why the attraction eventually fades.
The Suppression Trap
The logic seems sound on the surface. You have desires that fall outside what culture tells you is acceptable. You love your woman. You don't want to cause pain. So you hide it.
But here is what actually happens when you suppress your desire instead of leading with it.
Your woman doesn't feel protected. She feels managed.
She can sense when a man is performing instead of leading. Women are extraordinarily attuned to congruence, and incongruence reads as weakness, not kindness. The man who buries his desire out of guilt does not come across as devoted. He comes across as afraid.
And nothing kills attraction faster than fear.
Hypergamy Doesn't Lie
Women are wired for hypergamy. This isn't a controversial claim in evolutionary psychology, and it isn't a controversial claim in Scripture either. Women seek to be covered by the strongest man available to them. That drive doesn't disappear in a relationship. It either gets satisfied or it starts looking for an exit.
When you pedestalize your woman, when you make her your entire world, when you suppress every signal that you are a man with options, you don't satisfy that drive. You undercut it.
You are telling her, through every act of quiet suppression, that she is the ceiling of your potential. And if she is the best you could ever do, then you are by definition not the best she could do.
That is the trap most men never see coming.
What the Bible Actually Says About Male Desire
Here is where it gets important for men of faith.
The guilt that drives the suppression is not God-given. It is culturally installed.
The Western Christian tradition has largely treated monogamy as the biblical standard, but a honest reading of Scripture tells a more complex story. The patriarchs, the kings, the men God called and used, many of them led plural households. The Law regulated polygyny. It did not condemn it.
Men were designed to lead and multiply. Women were designed to be covered and cherished. These are not competing drives. They are complementary ones. When a man understands his design without shame, he leads differently. He carries himself differently. And the woman who is with him feels that difference immediately.
The guilt you feel about your desire for other women is not conviction. In most cases, it is conditioning. And the first act of biblical masculinity is learning to tell the difference.
What Honesty Actually Produces
When I stopped hiding and started leading with honesty about what I wanted to build, something unexpected happened.
My wife didn't retreat. She engaged.
She didn't feel less secure. She felt more chosen.
Because a man who can be honest about his desire, who carries it with confidence and frames it within a vision she can be part of, is not threatening. He is exactly what hypergamy is looking for. He is a man who has options and still chooses her to stand beside him as he builds.
That is not cruelty. That is the highest form of honor a man can show a woman.
Today Sanne cold approaches women on my behalf. That is not something I could have engineered through control or manipulation. It came from truth. It came from her watching me lead with conviction rather than shame.
Truth doesn't just set you free. It activates the people around you.
